Hi I’m new at this I’m 36 years old.
Have cervical cancer had treatment in 2018, treatment worked then had complications November 2019 and was told 2 weeks before Christmas cancer back and terminal this time. So currently having chemo which is only going to give me more time.
I guess I’m just wanting to talk to someone who is going through the same thing.
Thank you for posting on CancerChatNZ. I’m very sorry to read about your Cancer returning and terminal this time. It sounds very tough for you having to go through treatment again.
It can be helpful to have some counselling for coping strategies – you are welcome to call the cancer information nurses on 0800 CANCER(226237) to ask about counselling in your local area, or email us at email@example.com

Hi Mel, I am sorry to hear of what you are going through. I was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer in 2018 and had a mastectomy, went on tamoxifen and life was great. Thought I was done and dusted with that. Christmas Eve 2019 I was told I had cancer in my bones and in Jan found out my original breast cancer had spread, totally unexpected. Just gutting to hear that and now under the care of an oncologist. Stage 4 breast cancer is treatable but not curable. So many different feelings, good times, bad times and very deeply grateful to be here now.
I am happy to chat further with you. Stay strong, we can live well with this illness…I think “life shortening, not life limiting”😊😊
